It is starting to feel a little like a holiday!

Another beautiful day. The weather was magnificent. Even got to the beach this afternoon.
We had a lovely visit from Sarah, Holly and Jimmy and then Lisa, Emily and Max another family from Mt Colah showed up. We are being a bit spoilt for visitors as we are not expecting any in the months ahead.

I took the kids fishing in Budgewoi lake this morning. Got their rods sorted and then we rode our bikes over to the lake. Picked out a spot on the jetty and then started youngest to oldest (they chose the order as we are a very democratic family when it comes to making decisions on the priority listing). I showed all how we bait a hook, how to hold and then cast a line. Milly had a couple of goes then Lincoln had his turn then onto Patrick.

I turned around to help bait Lincolns line and in that thirty seconds Patch had created a tangle like I have never before seen. While trying to sort this out Milly hooked a fish, no pic I am sorry as TJ had the phone, but it was extremely exciting. Although it was too small to keep it was a milestone in the lives of our children and one not soon to be forgotten. Unfortunately while removing the hook I caused catastrophic internal damage which meant that when I threw the fish back into the water he floated very unceremoniously away upside down as dead as a door knob. OOPs. The blood on the wharf and the sight of a little cockney bream floating away upside down was a little unsettling but I don't think the damage is permanent as they are all keen to go again tomorrow.

They are all asleep now and we are about to have a cuppa and chat about tomorrow.

Life is good.
