It has begun

13 April. Midday and we are off.
After a number of problems with the alternator and power to the van and numerous resulting visits to the car doctor we left yesterday.
We are somewhat less confident in our ability to take on the whole country so have decided to spend a week on the Central Coast in a caravan park trying out all of our gear.
We got here safely but my inexperience what extremely evident when I parked, unhooked, wound down the legs and then found out the water and drain hose were too short to reach.
Moved to a new site with the power and waste on the correct side of our van, unhooked put the legs down and realised we were about 10 cms too far from the tap to get water in.
Take 3. We hooked up moved back the required distance and set up.
Definitely a good lesson for me.
Unfortunately once we did get things set up we found that we have power to the van but no lights.
I really wish I was an electrician. I did the only things I knew to do, like resetting the 12 volt breaker etc but to no avail. One good thing we know that our rechargeable lantern works.
Well w survived our first night.
The kids were so excited.
We are getting into the spirit of our adventure with the kids exploring the park on their bikes and just having a great time.
