Goodbye Western Australia

30 July

Up early the next morning and headed across the border into the Northern Territory and on towards Katherine.

Resupplied and gathered as much information on the Top End as we could in Katherine then went another 70kms up the road to Edith Falls. At the top of the road into the falls was a sign saying that the camp ground was full. There was a van parked in an area off to the side of the road so we went and asked them if they were there for the night which they were. Decided to unhook the van and went down for a swim and our first look at this type of landscape.

The water was beautiful and the waterfall was small but for our first one really cool. We only swam at the bottom pool as the walk to the top was about 25 mins each way and it was getting dark.

After a swim we went back to the van where we had dinner and an early night.

Patch helping with dessert.

Just as a reminder we had decided a while ago that we wanted to get to the Mt Isa rodeo so had booked our site at the caravan park and were now well and truly on a time schedule to get there. You will notice that our time in NT is very short but we plan on seeing as much as we can in that time.
